AI receptionist for local business

Never lose a job to an unanswered phone.

Ludo answers your business's phone when you are flat out or closed, takes the details and sends them to you. I run the test calls with you.

Ferntree Gully and across Melbourne's south east.

Example conversation

Concept project. A fictional business, shown so you can hear how an enquiry is handled.

Caller

Hi, I need to book my car in, and I'd rather not wait on hold.

Ludo

Happy to help. Can you tell me what the job is, and roughly when you need it done?

One call, start to finish

This is practice work, not client work. It shows one enquiry handled end to end, the greeting, the questions that matter and the handover, so you can hear exactly what your callers would get.

Concept project. A fictional business, written out so you can hear how an enquiry is handled.

Caller

Hi, I need to book my car in, and I'd rather not wait on hold.

Ludo

Happy to help. Can you tell me what the job is, and roughly when you need it done?

Caller

It's a repair, and I need it this week if you can fit it in.

Ludo

Let me take your name and the best number to reach you on, and I'll get this to the team.

Caller

Dan Whitmore. I'll give you the number.

Ludo

Thank you Dan. That's with the team now, and they'll come back to you today.

Logged for the business: repair job, needed this week, Dan Whitmore, callback number. Sent as a message, not a voicemail.

What we do

Answered when you cannot pick up

You are under a car, up a ladder or serving someone, and the phone keeps ringing.

Ludo answers it in your business's name, takes the details and sends them straight to you, so the caller never reaches a voicemail nobody plays.

Every caller written down

Enquiries end up on the back of an invoice or in someone's memory, half of them without a phone number.

Each call arrives to you as a message with the name, the best number to call back, what they need and when they need it.

Handed to a person when it matters

Someone asks for the manager, gets no answer, and rings the next business on the list.

During work hours the call goes to the number you choose, and out of hours the caller is told plainly when you will ring them back.

What you get, in order

  1. 1A setup call, about 30 minutes. You give me your open hours, the services you want answered, your suburbs, and the number that should ring when someone needs you now.
  2. 2Your call script, written from that call in your business's own words: how the phone is answered, what it asks, and when it hands over to you. Nothing goes live until you have read it and approved it.
  3. 3Your existing number stays. Calls forward to Ludo, so customers keep dialling what they always have, and you can switch the forwarding off any time.
  4. 4Calls answered in your business's name, day or night. Ludo introduces itself as your assistant, so nobody is tricked into thinking they are talking to a person.
  5. 5Every call arrives as a message to your mobile and your email as soon as it ends: the caller's name, the best number to ring back, what they need, when they need it, and the transcript of what was said.
  6. 6Urgent callers go straight through to your mobile while you are open. Out of hours they are told plainly when you will ring them back, and their details are waiting for you.
  7. 7Your first week checked with you call by call, with wording fixed wherever it sounds wrong, then one email a month listing the calls it answered.
  8. 8Message me when your hours or services change and I update it. I answer your calls or messages within one business day.

Who this is for

  • You run a local business where the phone is how work comes in: a mechanic, a plumber, an electrician, a salon, a venue, a clinic.
  • You are the one who answers it, and you are also the one doing the job.
  • You already lose calls. After hours, under a car, up a ladder, mid appointment.
  • You are in Ferntree Gully or within two hours of it, from Knox and Ringwood out to Pakenham and the Peninsula.

Not for you if someone already answers every call, or if you want a call centre with people behind it.

How it works

1

You send one message

Send me your business name, your number and the calls you hate missing.

2

You hear it answer

We run real test calls together and keep adjusting the wording until it sounds like your business.

3

You keep your number

It goes live on the number you already advertise, and from then on every enquiry reaches you as a message.

Ludo

Who you are dealing with

I'm Bull. I run Ludo, an AI receptionist for local businesses around Ferntree Gully and Melbourne's south east. You deal with me directly, so you tell me how your phone should be answered and I set it up and stay on it.

Fair questions

Will my customers hate talking to a robot?

It never pretends to be a person. It answers as your answering service, takes the details and says someone will ring them back.

Is it cheaper to just answer the phone myself?

You do answer it yourself, while you are flat out or after hours, which is exactly when the work rings somewhere else. This covers those calls so they stop going missing.

I don't think I miss that many calls.

You might be right. Pull up last week's missed calls and we will look at them together, and if there are none worth catching, you do not need me.

What if it gets something wrong and promises something I can't do?

It does not quote, confirm bookings or make decisions. It takes the name, the number, what they need and when, and passes it to you.

Who even are you?

I'm Bull, I run Ludo, and you deal with me directly. You hear the test calls before anything goes live, and before you spend anything.

Let's hear it answer one of your calls.

Tell me about the phone. I will answer with what it would say for your business.
